Best Juicer for Cabbage Reviews (Buying Guide)

In my mind, those who are looking for the best juicer for cabbage might be interested in making green juices.

We can either make green juices with a juicer or we can make green smoothies with a blender.

So, if you’re looking for the best juicer for cabbage, you might also consider looking for a blender in your search.

Let’s take this recipe as an example. We are told that we can make that juice in a blender or a juicer.

What I’m trying to imply is that I will prefer recommending both juicers and blenders as we’re looking for the best appliance to make cabbage juice. While you read about these various appliances you’ll be able to decide which is the best option for your household. But I’m glad that we have plenty to choose from.

Personally, I own both a juicer and a few blenders of different kinds. My love for blenders is greater because the resulting drinks incorporate the pulp, too. A juicer extracts the liquid from the pulp but discards the dry pulp so there’s waste.

Also, blenders are more complex. We can use them to make a lot more dishes, drinks, foods, etc. You’ll see what I’m referring to as you read my reviews.

And they’re easier to use and easier to clean.

Still, there will be plenty of people who don’t want to drink a smoothie. They will prefer a smooth liquid made of fruits and veggies that has the consistency of water or milk. And that’s why I will also recommend a variety of juicers. I’m not trying to imply that everyone should get a blender. We all have various needs and preferences.

Best Juicer for Cabbage Reviews

I also want to mention that I always recommend adding some other fruits and veggies to add sweetness and balance the flavors.

The recipe that I gave as an example includes cabbage as the base of the juice. On top of that, it uses apples, cucumbers, lemon, and ginger. But we can make whatever ingredient combinations we want.

If we’re using a blender, we’ll also have to add a bit of water to make the juice. In a juicer, we don’t add any extra liquid since only the liquids are extracted from the pulp of fruits and veggies. A blender will always need some type of liquid to make the smoothie. That can be water, fruit juices, tea, dairy milk, non-dairy milk, cold brew coffee, etc.

My top recommendation is the Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine. It’s a centrifugal juicer that works fast, is surprisingly good for juicing leafy greens, and can handle a wide variety of ingredients quite well. It’s also pretty much the cheapest option we could make for the best juicer for cabbage.

Next, we have the Omega NC900 Cold Press Juicer Machine that is the opposite: a masticating juicer that is very expensive but it’s also quite impressive.

For those who are looking for a blender to make cabbage juice, green smoothies and so much more, I have two recommendations. The affordable and powerful Ninja BN751 Professional Plus DUO Blender. And the expensive, impressive and highly popular Vitamix E310 Explorian.

1. Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine: Overall the Best Juicer for Cabbage

One user review describes the Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine as making great cabbage juice. And the juice is great tasting.

That’s a good way to sum up why I decided to recommend this Hamilton Beach as my top recommendation for the best juicer for cabbage.

It also helps that I reviewed it as one of the best juicers for pineapple because cabbage, pineapple, oranges, beets, lemon, carrots, apples, celery, etc. work very well together. And this juicer can help you do whatever combinations strike your fancy.

Centrifugal juicer

Among some people, centrifugal juicers might not have a great reputation but I still love them.

Thus, when we shop for juicers, there are two main categories to choose from: centrifugal and masticating.

Centrifugal models are extremely fast, powerful, and some of the most affordable juicers we could buy. All that applies to the Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine.

However, these models can also be described as being loud. And they are indeed loud. Don’t start juicing in the morning when everyone else is still sleeping, unless you want to give them a nice wake up call for some refreshing juice and breakfast.

Since they’re fast, you don’t have to put up with the noise for too long. Personally, I’m used to noisy juicers and very noisy blenders and I don’t have a problem with either.

If you do, I definitely recommend a masticating model for you.

It is also accepted and believed that centrifugal models, through heat and oxidation can create a juice with a slightly lesser quality. However, centrifugal juicers don’t destroy nutrients.

They just make a juice that is best consumed within 24 hours.

On the other hand, juices made with masticating juicers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Thus, masticating models move slowly and minimum heat is involved in the extraction process.

Making juice takes longer so I don’t recommend them for people who want to move fast in the mornings.

Another plus is that masticating juicers don’t oxidize the juice as much as centrifugal models. That can create a better taste.

Even so, the Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine makes delicious tasting juice from a wide variety of ingredients. And I would say that it’s better for leafy greens than a lot of masticating juicers that can cost 5-6-7 times more.

Features

I just want to firstly mention that the Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine doesn’t come with a juice container.

There is a very big pulp container but there’s no container for the juice that is extracted. You’ll have to use your own glasses or whatever else.

I don’t think that’s a big con, especially when we consider how affordable this model is. But I wanted to make sure that you know exactly what this Hamilton Beach offers and doesn’t offer buyers.

Also, if the pulp is too wet, juice it a second time. It can certainly happen with centrifugal models sometimes.

It has an extra-large 3 inch Big Mouth chute, which can eliminate a lot of prepping. We can add whole foods without precutting. However, some users will mention that smaller pieces are juiced more efficiently. You’ll have to see if that’s the case.

In order to be fast and powerful, it comes with a 800 watts motor. It ensures that we can juice everything from apples and celery to beets and leafy greens, like our cabbage.

It features a stainless steel micromesh filter to strain away pulp and seeds. Which is why it also works as one of the best juicers for tomatoes.

Also, it’s also quite easy to clean. I would say that it’s a top pick as the best juicer for cabbage for both beginners and experienced users.

2. Omega NC900 Cold Press Juicer Machine

While I believe that the Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine is one of the best juicers we could buy, whether we’re using it to make tomato juice or to juice cabbage, I also understand that it’s a centrifugal model.

Some people are truly keen on buying a masticating model. For those, my top recommendation as the best juicer for cabbage is the Omega NC900 Cold Press Juicer Machine.

Even if it’s also one of the most expensive juicers at the moment, I also believe that the Omega NC900 Cold Press Juicer Machine is also one amazing appliance.

Of course, the price around $350-$450 is not going to be accessible to a lot of people. For those, I recommend a cheap juicer like the Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine or a cheap but awesome blender like the Ninja BN751 Professional Plus DUO Blender.

Features

It is a 80 RPM, single auger masticating juicer. The 80 RPM indicates that this is a masticating model. They rotate slowly, without making much noise at all.

The low speed minimizes heat build-up and oxidation. That’s what characterizes masticating juicers and makes them so desirable, even if most of them are extremely expensive.

The powerful 2HP motor generates more torque to process tough ingredients.

It also promises a high juice yield.

The adjustable end cap features 3 settings to get the most juice out of fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens.

It’s also quite easy to clean with automatic pulp ejection. Cleaning it will involve a learning curve but you’ll get used to it quickly.

It also includes a pulp bowl and a juice bowl. Both are made of plastic.

More than a juicer

Basically, the Omega NC900 Cold Press Juicer Machine can be used to make: baby food, celery juice, citrus juice, fruit juice, leafy greens juice, nut butters, nut milks, pasta, sorbet, vegetable juice, wheatgrass juice.

It comes with a few accessories to make it so versatile.

These are 3 pasta nozzles and 1 breadstick nozzle.

There are also 2 strainers that influence what we’re making.

We get: juicing strainer and processing strainer. And the user manual will indicate how each is used. I highly recommend checking out the user manual before you do anything.

How good is it for making cabbage juice?

There aren’t many user reviews who use it for juicing cabbage and it’s understandable. Cabbage is not exactly the ingredient most of us think of when we want to drink some juice.

The few who use the Omega NC900 Cold Press Juicer Machine juicing cabbage are extremely pleased.

Someone mentions that this juicer is excellent for green juices. It’s quiet and consistent.

Another buyer mentions that it squeezes beets, carrots, ginger really well. Does pumpkin well too. The Omega NC900 Cold Press Juicer Machine also perfectly squeezes apples, turmeric, celery, cabbage. It does greens very well.

All in all, the Omega NC900 Cold Press Juicer Machine is an investment, a pretty expensive investment but it can be worth it if you have the budget for it.

3. Ninja BN751 Professional Plus DUO Blender

I believe that if you want a blender that costs around $100, that is really powerful, highly versatile, and that can be chosen as the best juicer for cabbage, then the Ninja BN751 Professional Plus DUO Blender can be a truly wonderful pick.

Ninja has a lot of wonderful blenders, including some that I reviewed in my recommendations for the best blenders for nuts and seeds. However, the Ninja BN751 Professional Plus DUO Blender still manages to stand out due to its affordable price, amazing quality, top power, and a very high percentage of positive reviews.

That’s why I love Ninja appliances so much. This manufacturer keeps prices affordable while offering top-notch quality, whether we’re talking about their quite numerous blenders both countertop and personal, air fryers, toaster ovens, toasters, etc.

The Ninja BN751 Professional Plus DUO Blender is a perfect example of that. If you can’t afford a Vitamix, you can definitely consider this one.

Components

Let’s see what the Ninja BN751 comes with because there are a lot of interesting components to know about:

  • 1,200-1,400 watts motor base
  • 72 oz Total Crushing Blades
  • 2 24 oz single-serve cups with spout lids – these 2 smoothie cups are perfect if you want to take your smoothie with you as you leave the house

There is a separate blade if we want to blend our smoothies directly into these to-go cups.

The motor is certainly not among the most powerful but it is powerful enough to handle a lot of ingredients, foods, it can make whatever smoothies we want.

It is the upgraded version of the Ninja’s original Professional Blender DUO, more powerful than that one. And it has a more modern design, which I like a lot.

The 72 oz pitcher is really big. It’s good enough for a big family. 64 oz is the max liquid capacity.

The Total Crushing Blades are great for making large batches for the whole family.

Features

I love the design for the Ninja BN751 Professional Plus DUO Blender. I’m definitely a fan of black appliances and this Ninja looks really nice. Besides looking nice, it’s also a blender with a lot of surprises.

We already saw that we get a powerful motor, a very large pitcher and 2 to-go smoothie cups.

All these are the perfect package for a small or large household.

Besides all those, we get 3 preset Auto-IQ programs.

These 3 presets help us create smoothies, frozen drinks, and nutrients extractions.

Thus, these are 3 buttons: smoothie, ice crush, extract.

The extract button is ideal for tough, leafy, and fibrous whole fruits and vegetables, including their skins, seeds, and stems.

The smoothie button is used for: fresh/frozen fruits, milk/yogurt, protein shakes.

And there are 3 speeds: low, med, high.

And the usual pulse button.

The quick start guide also includes 15 recipes: cinnamon & coffee smoothie, island sunrise smoothie, watermelon quench, chipotle salsa, watermelon mint granita, sun-dried tomato sauce, tropical chill, frozen strawberry peach treat (an ice cream made in a minute), broccoli cheddar soup, orange blush, mango protein shake, apple pie smoothie, lean green, morning berry, rise & shine.

4. Breville Juice Fountain Plus Juicer

I’m not done with juicers when it comes to recommendations for cabbage juicers. We reviewed both a centrifugal and a masticating juicer. One cheap, the other very expensive.

The Breville Juice Fountain Plus Juicer sits somewhere in between these two.

This Breville is another centrifugal juicer. The difference is that it’s much more expensive than the Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine.

However, if you have the budget and you don’t like the idea of buying the Hamilton Beach, then the Breville Juice Fountain Plus Juicer can be a wonderful alternative.

Features

The price under $200 is not the most affordable but, in my opinion, we get our money’s worth.

First, we get both a pulp container and a juice container. And they’re both really big.

The 1.1 quart juice jug is big enough for a small family. We get a froth separator integrated in the juice jug.

The large 2.6 quart pulp container is big enough to handle a pretty high amount of ingredients.

I should also mention that if the pulp is too wet, which can sometimes happen with centrifugal juicer, you can juice it a second time.

The 850 watts motor is incredibly powerful.

The extra wide chute feed measures 3 inches to juice whole fruits and vegetables. It cuts down on prepping time.

Plus, it comes with a titanium reinforced disc and Italian-made micro mesh filter basket.

They’re made of stainless steel and together are designed for optimum juice and nutrient extraction.

The Breville Juice Fountain Plus Juicer also comes with two speeds.

We get low and high. The user manual will contain a list of ingredients indicating which should be juiced on low and which on high.

We use the lower speed for softer fruits and leafy vegetables. The high speed is used for denser fruits and harder vegetables.

How good is it for making cabbage juice?

While there are plenty of negative reviews that you should check out for the Breville Juice Fountain Plus Juicer, there are also a lot of positive ones that truly matter.

There is one buyer who loves it and they make juice from: kale, carrots, cucumbers, apples, spinach, sweet potatoes, celery, oranges, lemons, ginger, cabbage, grapefruit, beets, and many others. Everything juiced nicely.

Another buyer mentions that this product can literally save your life. Well, it seems that people are truly enthusiastic about it.

Another buyer juiced a bushel of apples, 10 heads of cabbage, 20 pounds of carrot and celery. Those are some massive quantities and I imagine that they weren’t juiced in a day.

All in all, there are so many people who include cabbage among the ingredients they juice, which is fantastic. And they all praise the Breville Juice Fountain Plus Juicer for just how well it works.

The Breville Juice Fountain Plus Juicer might not be cheap but it’s a wonderful investment.

5. Vitamix E310 Explorian

While Vitamix blenders are some of the most expensive, in the world of blenders they’re as famous as KitchenAid is in the world of mixers. They’re just as popular and as well reviewed.
Of course, they’re not perfect. No appliance is. Not even the rice cookers from Zojirushi or the air fryers or toasters from Ninja.

There are some negative reviews that you should check out but, overall, I believe that the Vitamix E310 Explorian is a fantastic option as the best juicer for cabbage for those who can easily afford it.

It’s also a wonderful model to end these reviews. 3 amazing juicers and 2 equally amazing blenders. All these 5 appliances can meet a wide array of needs and budgets and that’s what I call a successful endeavor.

Features

The 48 container is definitely among the smallest.

The 48 oz container is ideal for blending medium batches for small family meals. So it’s certainly ideal for small families.

We get 10 variable speeds. These 10 speeds plus the pulse feature are perfect for preparing anything we might want from drinks with fruits, veggies, leafy greens, nuts, etc. to soups, dressings, puree food and so much more.

The Vitamix E310 Explorian allows us to create the smoothest textures. Or chunkier textures, depending on what we’re preparing.

The powerful 2 HP motor can handle even tough ingredients to create high-quality blends.

Plus, the pulse feature enables us to layer coarse chops over smooth purees. We can make chunky pasta sauce or thick vegetable soups.

It includes a mini-tamper and a cookbook.

I also love that we get a 5 year warranty.

On the other hand, if you feel like the Vitamix E310 Explorian is not powerful enough for you or maybe it’s too cheap for you, then I recommend checking out the Vitamix 5200. It’s more powerful, a high-performance machine, but also significantly more expensive.

Recipes

I cannot end a review for the Vitamix E310 Explorian or any Vitamix countertop blender without mentioning The Vitamix Cookbook.

It’s not included with their blenders, it has to be bought separately but I consider it to be an amazing blender cookbook, it truly showcases just how versatile these appliances truly are. It truly shows just how many foods and drinks we can prepare with a blender that is fairly powerful.

Some of the recipes from that cookbook that include cabbage as an ingredient are soups. I won’t cover those since we’re here to talk about this cruciferous vegetable as an ingredient for drinks.
Some others are for salads and slaw.

Unfortunately, it seems that there are no drinks made with cabbage, which is a shame.

The writers of the cookbook also introduce us to wet-chopping, which is done when the ingredients have a lot of moisture in them, like cabbage for slaw. We add enough water to float the ingredients above the blades. The water helps pull the vegetables down toward the blades, which gives us a more consistent chop. Use the Pulse function. Pulse 2-4 times and the cabbage will be shredded. Then, just drain the shredded cabbage.

Best Juicer for Cabbage Buying Guide

As you’ve already seen, my recommendations for the best juicer for cabbage fall into two big categories: juicers and blenders.

Should you get a juicer for cabbage?

Of course, I imagine that most people are looking for juicers when it comes to making cabbage juices.

Juicers are amazing, they extract just the liquids from fruits, veggies, and leafy greens and they discard the pulp. Many people love this liquidy texture and they might not enjoy smoothies that also include the pulp to make a very dense drink.

Since juicers are definitely the type of appliance most people might prefer, I made sure to review 3 of the absolute best.

That includes the very affordable Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine, which is among my favorites. I also believe that it’s great for beginners who don’t care for masticating juicers or for the noise that centrifugal juicers make.

Another amazing centrifugal model is the Breville Juice Fountain Plus Juicer. It’s very popular among people who juice cabbage and they love it.

Last but not least, the Omega NC900 Cold Press Juicer Machine is an expensive masticating juicer that will be an investment for people who can afford it.

Should you get a blender for cabbage?

Choosing to buy a blender is wonderful if you want to make green smoothies so you consume the pulp of fruits, veggies and leafy greens, too. And we can also add a variety of other ingredients: powders, nuts and seeds, yogurt, milks, water, honey, dried fruits, etc.

So, with a blender, we can make a wide variety of drinks.

Plus, we can use a blender for more, like making purees, soups, salsa, dressings, pasta sauces, pizza sauces, making flour from grains, nuts, grinding raw meat, making non-dairy milks, nut butters, ice cream, etc.

There are even some Ninja models that can be used to make dough, like the Ninja SS351 Foodi Power Blender & Processor.

Although, in this article, I recommended the Ninja BN751 Professional Plus DUO Blender because it’s affordable, amazing for making all kinds of drinks, and it comes with 2 to-go smoothie cups.

On the other hand, the Vitamix E310 or the Vitamix 5200 are more expensive but they can be used for everything we want from making flours and grinding spices to making the smoothest of drinks.

What does cabbage juice taste like?

Juiced cabbage, whether we’re using a blender or a juicer as the best juicer for cabbage, has a mild taste. I wouldn’t call it the best thing you’re ever tasted but I think that cabbage juice is quite tasty, there’s nothing unappealing about it.

Plus, I love that this cruciferous vegetable is low in calories, is accessible around the globe, the price is quite cheap, and we get a lot of benefits from it.

I’m not going to go into the benefits myself because that’s not my area of expertise. If you want to learn from experts about cabbage benefits, you can do so here.

However, if we want to make a cabbage juice have more depth, more appeal, then we need to combine it with other fruits and veggies to make it delicious. And to combine different ingredients with different benefits.

Apple and cabbage are awesome in salads. That remains true for juices, as well.

The same goes for cabbage and carrots.

Cucumber can also balance the cabbage flavor and it adds a lot of volume to our drinks since a cucumber is mostly water.

Ginger is fantastic for adding a bit of extra zing. I love it.

When we’re talking about leafy greens for smoothies or juices, cabbage is included among them.

Leafy greens that we can use for greens juices/smoothies are: lettuce, microgreens, kale, watercress, broccoli, bok choy, cabbage, collard greens, beet greens, arugula, chard, celery, mustard greens, herbs, spinach, etc.

Green cabbage can be characterized as being subtle tasting together with spinach, lettuce, baby kale and chard.

Red cabbage is peppery, like arugula, mustard greens, watercress.

To these leafy greens, we usually add fruits or veggies. And a small piece of ginger for those of us who love it.

Cabbage juice recipes

If you’re interested in a cookbook that features smoothie recipes with cabbage among other ingredients, I recommend checking out the Simple Green Smoothies by Jen Hansard & Jadah Sellner.

Those recipes can be made whether you’re using a blender or a juicer, it doesn’t matter. The difference is that when we’re using a blender we also need to use a liquid base, usually water.

One of the recipes is called citrus cold recovery. It is made with cabbage, oranges, pineapple, beet, lemon, flaxseed oil.

Another is called sweet turmeric twister. It is made with red cabbage, orange, blackberries, banana, elderberry extract.

We can make juices with broccoli, red cabbage, and lettuce leaves. This is totally green and I think the taste will be acceptable for people who are experienced drinkers of green juices.

Another one can be made with cabbage, carrots, and apples. This is a simple, basic combination but it’s delicious.

If you want to experiment with more cabbage varieties, you could make a juice from red cabbage, Napa cabbage, and apples.

All in all, the idea is that once you’ve found the best juicer for cabbage, you can try whatever ingredient combinations you want.
