If we’re looking for the best blender for carrot juice should we call it juice or a smoothie? As you can see, that’s where my mind went when I decided to review my favorite blenders for carrots.
We’ll call it juice. But you can also call it a smoothie. Both work.
The good news is that most blenders, if they’re powerful enough, can totally handle raw carrots.
Of course, we must use liquid (water, juice, dairy & nondairy milk) if we’re making carrot juice in a blender. These veggies are sweet so I don’t think you’ll need additional sweetener.
I’ll also talk about some of my favorite carrot juice recipes after giving you my recommendations.
It’s going to be a lengthy article so just skip the parts that don’t interest you at all. I hope you’ll be able to find the best blender for you and your budget.

Best Blender for Carrot Juice Reviews
Back to my dilemma of juice vs smoothie, I also decided that I’m also going to review a juicer besides all those fantastic blenders that I love.
Basically, a blender blends whole fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, yogurt, dairy or nondairy milk, and many other ingredients. Thus, the pulp and the juice contained by the fruits/veggies is blended together to make a thicker beverage, a sort of puree, the consistency depending on how much liquid we add.
We can combine ingredients however we want.
If you browse my website a bit, you’ll also see that I wrote about blenders for seeds and spices when I reviewed the best flax seed grinders. These kitchen appliances are so versatile, especially the truly powerful ones.
On the other hand, a juicer just extracts the juice. The pulp is discarded. A very good juicer should leave the pulp mostly dry. The difference is that, since we only extract the juice sans pulp, the consistency of the beverage is very liquid, watery.
Of course, juicers are not as versatile. Some expensive models can make a few different things thanks to a bunch of accessories. The classic, affordable centrifugal juicers can only be used to extract the liquid from fruits and veggies.
I enjoy using both a blender and a juicer but I love blenders a bit more because they can do so many things.
1. Nutribullet 600 Personal Blender: Overall the Best Blender for Carrot Juice
The nutribullet 600 remains one of the most popular appliances on the market. It’s truly fantastic and the number of negative reviews, although there are plenty, is not as big as we might encounter with other appliances.
I should also mention that this personal blender is also one of my favorites. So I decided to review it first as one of the best blenders for carrot juice.
Is it the most powerful? No.
Is it the biggest? Once again, no.
Then, what is it about? It’s a combination of power, reliability, versatility, and a cheap price.
If your budget is under $100, I don’t know if there’s anything better that you could buy.
The nutribullet 600 is a personal blender so it’s going to take a while if you want to make smoothies for a large family.
On the other hand, it’s great for small kitchens who barely have any free space left up in cupboards or on countertops.
Overall, I love it. And I decided to review it first because not everyone is going to want to spend $200-$500 just to buy the best blender for carrot juice.
Generally, I like starting my recommendations with products that offer quality at prices that most of us can afford. I also reviewed it as one of best flax seed grinders.
Features
It comes with:
- 600 watts motor base – it might seem that it’s not powerful enough but it truly is because this is a personal blender
- extractor blade
- 24 oz cup – you can buy more cups if you want to make smoothies for more people to drink on the go
- to-go lid – personal blenders are amazing because their container transforms into a to-go smoothie cup
- lip ring
- recipe book
The recipe book includes a recipe for carrot cake smoothie that is made with:
- carrots
- Greek yogurt
- milk (almond milk or whatever other milk you prefer)
- pitted dates
- coconut flakes
- cinnamon
- a dash of nutmeg
You can also find a whole array of recipes on their website. All those recipes show just how versatile and awesome the nutribullet 600 is.
It can also help us make ice cream and many other desserts, sauces, nut butters, salsa, soups, and much more.
A user review mentions that their favorite juice recipe for the nutribullet 600 is made with: carrots, baby spinach, frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, bananas, and honey.
As you can see, this model is powerful enough for raw carrots, for frozen fruits and so much more.
We can make combinations of whatever fruits, liquids, veggies, nuts and seeds, powders, sweeteners etc. we want. That’s the beauty of using blenders.
2. Ninja SS351 Foodi Power Blender & Processor System
Just as the name suggests, the Ninja SS351 is more than a blender, it’s a processor system with a bunch of components and accessories.
Overall, the SS351 is complex, powerful, versatile, and an extremely popular blender that has few negative reviews compared to the multitude of positive ones.
The words used to describe it are: crush, chop, and make dough conveniently in one pitcher.
I would have reviewed it first as the best blender for carrot juice but I decided to allocate it second place.
The reason is the price. This Ninja is an appliance with a price around $200 or slightly lower, while the nutribullet costs less than $100.
It’s also one of the best blenders to puree food and so much more. Overall, we get good value for money.
Components
Since I mentioned that it’s a complex system, let’s see what it includes:
- motor base 1,400 watts
- 72 oz power blender & processor pitcher
- total crushing and chopping blade
- dough blade
- 24 oz nutrient extraction cup
- 14 oz smoothie bowl maker with storage lid
The power-dense motor with smartTORQUE is capable of powering through heavy loads without stalling. And we don’t need to stir or shake.
Our primary container is the 72 oz one. It’s very big, among the biggest among countertop blenders.
We can also use two different types of blades with this container: total crushing and chopping blade and dough blade.
The total crushing and chopping blade is the one that makes this model work both as a blender and as a food process. It’s unlike any blade we’ve seen with other models from other brands. It’s really great.
Given the fact that the Ninja SS351 is both a blender and a processor system, we can be even more confident that it can make carrot juice from raw carrots without any hitch.
And the dough blade, just as the name suggests, helps us knead dough for bread, pizza, baked goods. Thus, if you don’t have a stand mixer or bread machine, this Ninja SS351 replaces the need for them in the kitchen.
The 24 oz nutrient extraction cup transforms the Ninja SS351 into a personal blender. It has a to-go lid so it can be used as a smoothie cup on the go.
The smoothie bowl maker, the 14 oz container, comes with its own unique set of blades. It can be used to make smoothie bowls and some even use it for making hummus.
Features
There’s a knob for controlling the speed if we want to operate the Ninja SS351 manually.
There are also 6 programs: extract, smoothie, bowl, spread, chop, dough.
We also get a pulse button.
If we choose to use the 6 programs, each one has its own variation of speed and pulse and it will do whatever it needs to do without any input from our part. It will automatically stop when it’s done.
3. Vitamix E310 Explorian
Among the many and wonderful Vitamix blenders, one of the most affordable is the Vitamix E310 Explorian. I also reviewed it as one of the best juicers for cabbage.
After this one, I’ll also review the Vitamix 5200, which is more powerful, more expensive, and has a bigger pitcher.
Features
It comes with:
- 2hp motor base (1,200-1,400 watts)
- 48 oz (1.4L) container
- mini-tamper
- cookbook
The blades are laser-cut, stainless-steel hammermill and cutting blades that measure 3 inches in diameter to ensure a consistent blend every time.
It’s a classic, extremely easy to use model.
We get a knob for selecting the speeds 1 to 10 and the pulse feature.
The major characteristic of all Vitamix appliances is their power and their amazing blades. They’re incredibly versatile and that’s what justifies their prices.
We can even use them to make flour and anything else we might think of.
4. Vitamix 5200
I love the E310 more because it’s cheaper. By Vitamix’s standards that can be considered an affordable blender. By most people’s standards, it’s still quite expensive.
And if you think that’s expensive, wait till you see the price for Vitamix 5200, somewhere between $450-$550, depending where you live and if you catch it on sale or not.
In the same price range, we also have the Breville Super Q.
And just a bit more expensive than that, we’ll find the Tribest Dynapro Blender with Vacuum DPS-2250.
This is the trifecta of truly expensive blenders.
Features
However, among these three fantastic brands, the Vitamix 5200 is the simplest one.
We don’t get fancy accessories or interesting functions.
All Vitamix blenders resemble classic blenders. It’s all about power, sharp amazing blades, and a variety of speeds that will get us the texture we need for our drinks, smoothies, and food preparation.
We get a knob for the 10 speeds.
If you really want the smoothest texture possible, we also get a button for High, which is the top speed.
And there’s the pulse function.
And an on/off button.
That’s all there’s to it. Simple and straightforward.
I’m sure there are many people who will appreciate the simplicity. The idea that you don’t have to keep a user manual nearby because an appliance just has too many functions to keep straight.
The box contains:
- 2hp motor base (approx. 1,400 watts)
- 64 oz (2L) container
- classic tamper
- getting started guide
And if you truly are passionate about testing any Vitamix model, I also recommend getting their cookbook.
5. Breville Super Q
The Breville Super Q is a fantastic appliance, one of the best blenders at the moment no matter what we want to use it for.
The cookbook that comes with this blender, which is an amazing cookbook worthy of this model, doesn’t include a carrot juice blend.
It actually features a spiced raw carrot & cilantro dip. I don’t know about you but that sounds better than a juice at this moment. Or maybe I’m just hungry and I need to take a break from writing.
The ingredients for the dip are: 3 medium carrots peeled coarsely chopped, water, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, shallot, dates, ginger, cumin, garam masala, and cilantro leaves.
As you can see, this Breville can absolutely blend raw carrots, whether they’re meant for a juice or a delicious recipe like this dip.
Basically, the Breville Super Q is capable of anything.
Components
It features quite an array of components:
- 1,800 watts motor – one of the most powerful countertop blenders on the market
- 68 oz container
- 24 oz cup
- tamper
- spatula
- recipe book
The 24 oz cup transforms the Breville Super Q into a personal blender. It comes with a go-to lid to take our smoothie away from home.
It also features 186mph blade tip speed. Overall, it’s very quick and efficient.
All in all, it’s the complete package.
Features
There are 5 one touch programs: green smoothie, smoothies, soup, pulse/ice crush, and frozen dessert.
And we also get 12 speed settings that help us make nut butters, nut & bean milks, fresh cocktails, fine milled flour, ground spices, sauces, dressings, dips, etc.
Once you study the recipe book for a bit, you’ll understand how the 5 programs and the 12 speeds are used together.
Super Q stands for Super Quick, Super Quiet, Super Blender. I think Breville summed it up quite well.
It’s a good model for people who are especially looking for a quiet blender. It comes with a unique cooling system that reduces operating noise.
6. Tribest Dynapro Blender with Vacuum DPS-2250
This is a commercially certified model that doesn’t cost $1,000+ like commercial blenders usually do. That makes it a little bit intriguing.
I’m more used to talking about Tribest for their expensive juicers. Their new blender is not at all as well-known as any of the models I included above as our possible choices for the best blender for carrot juice.
However, the few people who have had the budget for buying it, are quite pleased with this Tribest appliance. As they should be. Given the price, they should be ecstatic.
The Tribest Dynapro Blender with Vacuum DPS-2250 is the most expensive option in my recommendations. There are some Vitamix blenders that cost just as much or even more but I didn’t include them among my reviews. So Tribest is the most expensive here.
Let’s see what the deal is all about.
I should also mention that there’s no cookbook included.
Frankly, I love that the Breville Super Q does come with a pretty satisfactory cookbook. I love it because it shows what that complex machine is capable of doing so buyers can easily learn what it can do and what kind of recipes we can concoct.
Thus, I’m a bit disappointed with Tribest. I think they need to create a cookbook for amateur users if they want people to explore everything that their new appliance is capable of.
At least we can buy a whole bunch of accessories for the Dynapro Blender with Vacuum DPS-2250. Some are really expensive so let’s hope that the original components last for years to come.
Last but not least, the user manual contains a bunch of instructions about how to use this model. I find them a bit complicated at first glance. It’s certainly not as straightforward as a Vitamix model with its speeds and pulse function and that’s it.
Components
Let’s start with the beginning, meaning with what’s in the box:
- one-touch vacuum pump
- BPA-free vacuum-sealed lid and center cap
- 64 oz BPA-free tritan blending container
- 4-pronged stainless steel blade assembly
- stainless steel scoop
- motor base with cord wrap
- spare small silicone o-rings x 5
- spare silicone vacuum valves x 5
- user manual
The motor is incredibly powerful at 2.5hp.
The max speed is 32,000 RPM. It’s extremely powerful so you should expect a very noisy appliance.
To once again demonstrate its impressive power, it’s a motor base of 1,865 watts. For quite a long time, I had the impression that the Breville Super Q was among the most powerful.
Well, this Tribest is commercially certified, while the Breville Super Q isn’t. And the Tribest is slightly more expensive.
We also get a 15 years warranty for household use. And 3 years for commercial use. That’s a lot.
The vacuum pump has a 1 year warranty so that’s separate.
What is the role of the vacuum pump?
Since we’ve never encountered such a component before, let’s see what this thing does.
The pump creates a tight vacuum seal before blending the most sensitive ingredients.
It protects the recipes from oxidizing in just seconds.
When we blend, the pump is directly attached to the 64 oz container.
Just before blending, if the vacuum pump is attached, it will remove oxygen from the container. We just have to press a button for that to happen.
The main role is to prevent oxidation so our smoothies or drinks can last longer in the fridge.
People also mention that the vacuum pump also enables drinks to have more flavor.
Thus, those who are passionate about making green smoothies will love this process that doesn’t oxidize nutrients. Also, the smoothies are not as foamy. That’s certainly very interesting.
For this component we need 8 AA batteries. That’s a lot of batteries. Someone mentions that they need to be changed pretty often if we use the vacuum pump frequently.
I don’t get why the pump was made to work with batteries but I’m not an engineer so I’m not going to go deeper into talking about this aspect.
Features
The highly powerful motor comes with a turbo cooling fan. It’s meant for blending even the toughest ingredients. That’s when you know for sure that you can pick the Tribest Dynapro Blender with Vacuum DPS-2250 as the best blender for carrot juice.
This Tribest can handle anything from ice and frozen ingredients to dry ingredients and bulk batches.
There’s a button for selecting the speed.
Three very useful buttons are: blend, pulse, combo.
We get a countdown timer (mode), between 5 seconds and 5 minutes, if we want the blender to stop by itself in a certain amount of time.
Moreover, there’s a raw temperature indicator. It’s another unique feature that I haven’t encountered before.
We can create over 700 custom programming cycles. It’s certainly an interesting blender for those who love toying with their appliances and have the patience for it.
How to use the Tribest Dynapro
Let’s see what the user manual offers as instructions.
For making nut & seeds milks, we must press Pulse + Blend + Blend. 30 secs for pulse and 60 seconds blend.
Raw superfood smoothies can be made just with the Blend function in 30 secs. If we have heavier combinations (nuts, seeds, thick veggies) we can use Pulse + Blend for 30 secs respectively.
Thick sauces from beans & nuts we can use Pulse + Combo + Blend, 30 secs each.
We can also make hot soups directly in the Tribest Dynapro, without boiling ingredients in a pan on the stovetop. It seems it takes between 1.5 and 3 mins in this blender. Use the Combo + Blend + Blend + Blend. 30 secs combo and 90 sec blend.
And that’s about it when it comes to instructions featured in the user manual.
7. Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine: Best Juicer for Carrot Juice
The last among my reviews for the best blender for carrot juice is not a blender but a juicer. It’s an appliance that extracts just the juice from carrots and many other ingredients.
However, some people might be interested in extracting just the juice from ingredients without desiring the pulp to be blended into a thicker drink.
I decided to review the Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine not because it’s perfect, since there is no such thing.
Juicers tend to have a lot more negative reviews than blenders.
Omega and Tribest make very expensive juicers. Breville sells theirs at pretty high prices, too. The Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine is the cheap one, with a price under $100. And that’s why I decided to pick this one as an alternative to all those wonderful blenders.
It’s also one of the best juicers for tomatoes, for grapes, and for pineapple. And a bunch of other fruits and veggies. So it deserves a place among some of the best blenders for carrot juice.
Centrifugal juicer
This is a centrifugal juicer that is awesome for a lot of ingredients, including carrots.
In fact, juicers no matter their type are totally made for tough veggies and fruits. The problems appear when they have to squeeze juice out from leafy greens, berries or other soft ingredients.
Being a centrifugal model, it means that it works fast. Very fast. The blades spin at fantastic speed in order to extract the juice.
The pulp goes in the pulp bin. With centrifugal models, if you feel that the pulp is too wet, I recommend juicing it a second time.
The stainless steel micromesh filter strains away pulp and seed. We get a smooth drink every time.
The Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine doesn’t include a juice container. You’ll have to use glasses or your own container.
While centrifugal juicers are affordable, fast, powerful, and very capable of handling a wide array of ingredients, they can also be noisy.
On the other hand, masticating juicers are less noisy, not as fast but it is also considered that the juice retains more nutrients because low heat is used in the extraction process. These are also a lot more expensive.
Overall, the Hamilton Beach Juicer Machine is great for beginners who aren’t totally sure that they want to juice on a regular basis.
Or for people who want to juice daily but they don’t have the budget for expensive appliances.
Features
We get a 800 watts motor. It can transform veggies and fruits into nutritious juice in seconds.
It also ensures maximum yield. However, getting a rather wet pulp is still a possibility with certain ingredients. Juice the pulp if that’s what’s happening.
It just has an on/off button so there’s nothing we need to learn about using it.
There’s also a 3 inch Big Mouth chute. We can juice whole ingredients, cutting back on prep time. When juicing there’s a lot less prep needed as compared to using a blender.
Overall, it can juice firm carrots, delicate leafy greens (not always so successfully), beets and beet greens, celery, citrus fruits, ginger, pomegranate, berries, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and whatever else we want.
We can also use it to make soy, almond or rice milk.
Its parts are dishwasher safe.
The user manual includes just a few recipes. One is named Eye-Opener and it’s made with carrots, apple, and tangerine, peeled.
Another one called The Healthy Club is made only with a bag of spinach and 3 carrots.
You can make whatever combinations you want, with whatever you have on hand. That goes both for blenders and juicers.
Best Blender for Carrot Juice Buying Guide
Let’s see which are the most important criteria to look for when we’re searching for the best blender for carrot juice.
Personal vs Countertop Blender
This is a comparison between small vs big blenders.
The nutribullet 600 is the only personal blender that I recommended as the best blender for carrot juice. It’s small, versatile, powerful and it can do what countertop blenders can but in a smaller quantity.
It will be a nice choice for many people.
Those who live in small spaces.
Or who have a budget under $100.
Or who just don’t need a big blender because they don’t live with a large family or they’re the only ones in the family who enjoy healthy, delicious drinks.
Size (pitcher/jug)
Personal blenders usually come with a 24 oz smoothie cup that comes with a to-go lid/travel lid.
The exception is the Hamilton Beach Personal Blender that comes with a 14 oz cup. It’s also not powerful enough for blending raw carrots but it can handle boiled/steamed ones. It’s also pretty much the cheapest blender we could buy.
Countertop blenders are sold in a variety of sizes.
The smallest is the Vitamix E310 with the 48 oz cup. It’s still big enough for small to medium-sized families.
Next, we have bigger containers: 72 oz, 64 oz, and 68 oz. These are all considered to be big.
When it comes to juicers, just in case you don’t want a blender, most of them don’t come with a jug for the juice, only the pulp container. You’ll have to use glasses or your own container.
Power
A countertop blender with a motor base of 1,400 watts or more can do basically anything.
In the 1,400 watts range we have Ninja and Vitamix.
However, the two most powerful models among my recommendations are Breville and Tribest Dynapro.
Both have motor bases in the 1,800 watts range. They’re fantastic.
A juicer with a motor of 800 watts is very powerful. Masticating juicers with a 2hp motor are very good and not too slow.
Price
For some, this will be the characteristic that determines which model they’ll choose as the best blender for carrot juice.
If your budget is under $100, my recommendation is the nutribullet 600.
If you would be willing to spend around $200, then the Ninja ss351 is truly fantastic.
On the other hand, if you only want a Vitamix model but you can’t afford one at $500 or more, like the Vitamix 5200, then choose the Vitamix E310.
Last but not least, if you want to take a leap and spend over $500, you can choose between Breville and Tribest. It’s pretty hard to choose between the two, they’re both impressive kitchen appliances.
Should you peel carrots before juicing/blending?
Well, if we’re using a juicer, the pulp is discarded as only the liquid is extracted from fruits and veggies.
On the other hand, in a blender the peel is blended into a smooth beverage if we don’t peel some of our veggies.
My opinion is that we don’t have to peel carrots if we buy organic or if we grow them all natural with compost in our gardens.
Otherwise, I would recommend peeling them.
Moreover, if I roast carrots from my garden, I just wash them thoroughly but don’t peel them.
Should you boil carrots before blending?
Some people will add chunks of raw carrots to their blender when making carrot juice. Others will actually prefer to steam or to boil the carrots to soften them and make them tender.
If you don’t have a very powerful blender, I totally agree that you should stem/boil hard veggies before turning them into a smoothie.
Personally, I think that both work really well.
If you blend raw carrots, just make sure to cut them into smaller pieces so that the blades can make a very smooth smoothie. Just like we cut our ginger for juicing into 1 inch pieces, although we do that because ginger has a powerful flavor that can easily overwhelm the rest of the ingredients.
Of course, you can also juice baby carrots.
When I went through The Vitamix Cookbook, I came across a carrot-apple juice blend.
Surprisingly, this recipe mentions that the 4 medium carrots should be peeled, cut into pieces, steamed until tender, and cooled.
On the other hand, in the same Vitamix blender cookbook, I came across another recipe. This one is for mango carrot juice blend.
In the case of the mango carrot juice blend, we’re instructed to use 3 carrots quartered. Thus, there’s no mention of steaming or boiling the carrots, we’re adding them raw to the pitcher.
We select Variable 1 (the lowest speed) and then we slowly increase the speed to High, which will run for 1 minute and then we’re done.
As you can see, even Vitamix agrees that we can make carrot juice blends with both raw and steamed/boiled carrots. Both work.
Favorite Carrot Juice Recipes
You can make whatever combinations you want. We can make a simple juice from raw carrots, water/fruit juice, and maybe a bit of honey. This is the simplest recipe you can make.
Carrots with oranges and ginger is a classic combination.
Just like the combination of carrots and apples. My mother made that for me when I was little and I still ended up wearing glasses.
Another simple recipe is a combination of carrots and baby spinach. Again, you can add a bit of honey or sugar or date paste or whatever sweetener you prefer.
This website has a carrot juice recipe made with raw carrots cut into 1 to 1 ½ chunks and blended with orange juice and ice cubes. We can also add a small amount of ginger for a zing.
You can also blend raw carrots with apples and water or a fruit juice, like pineapple, orange or a green juice.
In The Vitamix Cookbook, you’ll find a recipe for a mango carrot juice blend. This one is made with water, mango nectar, grated orange zest, orange, apple, carrots, frozen mango chunks, and ice cubes. This is definitely a more complex recipe that requires a lot more ingredients.
The same cookbook also includes a carrot-apple juice blend that is made with steamed carrots. The ingredients are water, unsweetened apple juice, steamed carrots, fresh basil, apple, and ice cubes.
You can also find a bunch of recipes here.
All in all, once you buy the best blender for carrot juice, you’ll be ready to experiment with whatever ingredients you want or have around the house.
